Tusheti is a strictly seasonal destination. The road (Abano Pass) is usually open only from mid-June to early October.
The best time to visit is July and August for the warmest weather and wildflowers. September offers beautiful autumn colors and clearer air, but nights are cooler. In winter, spring, and late autumn, the region is inaccessible due to snow.
Safety is our #1 priority. Abano Pass is a challenging mountain road, so we use exclusively high-clearance 4x4 vehicles (typically Mitsubishi Delica or similar mountain-prepared vans).
Our drivers are local professionals who know every turn of the road. We never speed; we prioritize a safe, steady journey to let you enjoy the breathtaking views without stress.
Yes! The road to Tusheti is winding. If you are prone to car sickness, we highly recommend securing the "Front Seat Guarantee" add-on when booking.
This reserves the seat next to the driver for the best visibility and stability. Note: Only 1 front seat is available per car, so book early!
We generally do NOT recommend this tour for children under 10 years old.
The journey involves 5–7 hours of off-road driving on a narrow mountain pass, which can be exhausting for kids. Additionally, Tusheti is remote and quick medical care is not available. This adventure is best for adults and teenagers comfortable with long travel days.
