Join our budget-friendly small group tour to Sabaduri Forest and experience one of the most breathtaking landscapes in the Caucasus with fellow travelers. Whether you're a solo adventurer, a content creator seeking the perfect shot, or simply looking to escape into nature, this is one of the most popular Tbilisi day trips designed for everyone! We provide dedicated photo stops and professional assistance with capturing your best moments, making it the perfect choice for those who want to take home stunning memories of their winter in Georgia.   Our journey begins at the beautiful Europe Square, a central meeting point with easy access from the Old Town and Avlabari Metro Station (just a 6-minute walk). A friendly tip from our team: look for the parking area directly in front of the old-fashioned Café Tram. To ensure everyone has the best experience, we can wait up to 10 minutes before departure—so please be on time! Seats are first come, first served.   Our first stop is the magnificent Chronicle of Georgia Monument, a spectacular sculpture complex known as the "Georgian Stonehenge." It tells the country’s rich history through intricate carvings and is a must-visit site for those who love culture and stunning panoramic views of the Tbilisi Sea.   Next, we drive into the heart of the enchanting Sabaduri Forest. During winter, this area transforms into a magical winter wonderland covered in snow, while in warmer months, the lush green canopy creates a fairytale-like atmosphere. It’s an absolute paradise for nature lovers, hikers, and photographers.   We will also visit the heartwarming Bear & Dogs Sanctuary in Sabaduri Forest. This non-profit rescue center is a unique place where you can see these magnificent animals up close in a safe environment. Your visit directly contributes to their protection and ongoing care. Continuing our adventure, we stop at the historic Jvari Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dating back to the 6th century. From this sacred hilltop, you’ll witness the breathtaking confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers, offering the most iconic and photographed views in all of Georgia.   This tour is perfect for solo travelers, budget-conscious adventurers, and content creators who want to experience the natural beauty of Georgia without breaking the bank. With a friendly group vibe and endless opportunities for amazing photos, it’s a winter experience you’ll never forget!   Duration Difficulty Type Language English 4 hours Start 11:00 (11 AM) Finish 14:00 (2 PM) Easy Small Group Tour Meeting Point: 11:00 AM Sharp Europe Square, in front of Café Tram (Conveniently located just a 6-minute walk from Old Town and Avlabari Metro Station). Includes: Comfortable group transportation Full climate control (Air-conditioned/Heated vehicle) Dedicated photo stops & expert assistance with your pictures Complimentary bottled water All entry fees for the Bear and Wolf Sanctuary Exclusions: Lunch – Friendly tip: This itinerary does not include a formal lunch stop. You are most welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks, but we kindly ask that you help us keep our vehicles clean for all guests. Gratuities (Optional, but our guides truly appreciate your kindness!)   Important Friendly Advice: Weather in the Sabaduri Forest can be unpredictable, especially in the winter months. While snow isn't always guaranteed, the forest is a stunning winter wonderland regardless of the coverage. Mountain air can be chilly! We recommend that you dress warmly in layers and wear comfortable, waterproof shoes. Our group tours require a minimum number of travelers to run. In the rare case this isn't met, we will always offer you a wonderful alternative option. Please note that the end time may vary slightly due to Tbilisi traffic or mountain weather conditions. Safety first! Feeding the rescued bears and wolves is a privilege, so please follow your guide's safety instructions carefully. You are more than welcome to bring treats for the animals: they love fresh fruits and vegetables (for the bears) and dog food (for the dogs). The sanctuary is a dedicated rescue home for dogs, cats, horses, wolves, and foxes. These are rescued animals, often coming from difficult conditions, and are cared for with deep love and strict guidelines. If you feel moved by their mission, you are welcome to make a donation. Every Lari helps provide food, shelter, and medical care for these beautiful creatures.

This is not your typical sightseeing tour. It's raw, honest, and real - designed for those who want to dive beneath the polished surface of everyday life in Tbilisi and Georgia. Be prepared to see the unseen, meet the unheard, and go where others won't. What You'll Experience 1. University Dormitories of IDPs. We'll start in the university district of Tbilisi, where you'll visit the university halls of residence where internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Abkhazia have taken up residence in former student hostels. These buildings are more than dormitories - they have become sanctuaries for families who fled the conflict decades ago. Today they struggle with overcrowding and dilapidation but also show incredible resilience. This glimpse into their daily lives provides a powerful narrative of a country scarred by history but full of hope. 2. Ride the Retro Cable Car. Next, you'll take a ride on the Retro Cable Car, a nostalgic piece of Tbilisi's past still used by locals as part of their daily routine. This charming relic of the Soviet era offers a simple yet powerful way to connect with the city's culture beyond the tourist hotspots. There's nothing glamorous about it - just an authentic ride that reflects the enduring spirit and history embedded in everyday life here. 3. Nutsubidze Skybridge and the high-rise blocks. We then head to residential areas that most tourists never see, including the iconic blocks connected by the Nutsubidze Skybridge. These high-rise complexes are connected by a sky bridge 70 meters above the ground, where everyday life goes on amid aging buildings and incredible views. If you're lucky, you might even meet the local worker who runs the lift and keeps everything running smoothly. They often have fascinating stories to tell about life in these towers and what it's like to work in this extraordinary environment. 4. The Abandoned Archaeological Museum. One of the more unique stops on the tour is the abandoned Museum of Archaeology. While it is generally not possible to enter the museum due to security restrictions, true urban explorers may be able to catch a glimpse of its fascinating underground spaces. These dungeons offer a rare perspective on Tbilisi's forgotten areas and provide an insight into the many layers of the city's past. 5. Former Ministry of Roads. Another highlight of our trip is the former Ministry of Roads, a striking example of Soviet-era architecture with its bold and unconventional design. With its interlocking structures and raw concrete form, this building is one of the most iconic examples of Brutalist architecture in Georgia. Although it no longer functions as a ministry, it remains a testament to the ambitious - and sometimes bold - architectural visions of its time. It is a must see for anyone interested in architecture, history or simply experiencing the unique character of Tbilisi. 6. Chronicles of Georgia Monument. We also explore the Chronicles of Georgia, a massive monument overlooking the city and offering stunning views of the Tbilisi Sea and surrounding urban areas. This impressive site often visited for its grandeur, also offers a fascinating perspective on Tbilisi's blend of past and future. From here you can see sprawling Soviet-era architecture set against the backdrop of newer developments, highlighting how Georgia balances its rich heritage with its aspirations for the future.   Why take this Brutal Tbilisi tour? This tour isn't about fancy photo opportunities - it's about the people who call this city home. You'll meet locals who face challenges every day, yet maintain a spirit of determination and hope. You'll see a Tbilisi that is gritty, complicated and beautiful in its rawness. Whether you're a solo traveler, an adventurer, or simply curious to see the less touristy side of Tbilisi, this experience will leave a lasting impression. If you're ready to step out of your comfort zone and discover the raw beauty of Tbilisi, join us on the Brutal Tbilisi: Urban Exploration Join-In Tour. It's an eye-opening journey that will forever change the way you see this city and its people. Booking & Travel FAQ: Small Group Tours from Tbilisi

Is this tour right for me? (Who is it for?)

Our tours are designed for adventure seekers and nature lovers who want to escape the crowds. We go off-road to places big buses cannot reach.

If you enjoy wild landscapes, don't mind a few bumps on the road, and prefer authentic experiences over luxury comfort, you will love it! However, if you prefer a slow-paced trip in a large bus with reclining seats, our adventurous style might not be for you.

How long does the tour last and what time does it start?

Most full-day adventures (Kazbegi, Rainbow Mts, Truso) last around 9–12 hours. Departure is usually at 08:30 AM.

Real Talk: Please keep in mind that return times can vary depending on weather, heavy traffic (especially on weekends/high season), and road conditions. We do our best to be on time, but adventure sometimes takes a little longer!

Where is the meeting point?

We have two main central locations depending on your tour type:

  • 4x4 Tours (Kazbegi/Rainbow Mts): Europe Square, next to the "Old Tram" cafe.
  • Walking Tours: Liberty (Freedom) Square, in front of the Burberry store.

We always send the exact Google Maps link via WhatsApp/Email before your tour.

How many people will be in the group?

We run small groups only – no big buses.

Depending on the route and vehicle type, there are usually no more than 6 guests per car. This keeps the experience friendly, flexible, and much more personal than mass tourism.

Are the tours in English?

Yes. Our scheduled group tours are conducted in English. Our guides are friendly locals who speak good English and love sharing stories about their country.

Note: Sometimes day trips (except walking tours) can be bilingual (English & Russian) depending on the group mix, but English is always the primary language.

What vehicles do you use for 4x4 tours?

For our mountain routes, we use the legendary Mitsubishi Delica 4x4 minivans.

These cars are safe, trustworthy, and perfect for Georgian off-road terrain. Note: They are true off-roaders, so the ride can be bumpy and "less plush" than a city sedan—but that is part of the adventure!

How fit do I need to be? Is there a lot of walking?

You should be able to walk at a relaxed pace on uneven ground and climb short hills. Most stops involve short walks (10–20 minutes).

Don't want to walk? You can always skip a hiking part and just enjoy the view from the car... (but why did you book an adventure tour then?). If you have serious mobility issues, a Private Tour is a much better choice.

Can I pay for the tour with cash?

No. All our group tours are 100% prepaid online to secure your seat. We do not accept cash payments on the day of the tour.

Are there toilets and ATMs on the way?

We visit some wild and isolated places! While we make stops at village gas stations/cafes where possible, sometimes in nature the only toilet is... nature itself.

Important: ATMs are almost impossible to find in the mountains. Please withdraw enough Cash (GEL) in Tbilisi before the tour for lunch, souvenirs, and small expenses.

Is lunch included in the tour price?

Usually no. We stop at trusted local restaurants where you can order delicious Georgian dishes à la carte (approx. 25-40 GEL).

I have food preferences (Halal, Kosher, Vegan). Can you accommodate?

The restaurants we visit serve traditional Georgian food (pork/alcohol) and are not Halal or Kosher certified.

However, there are plenty of vegetarian options (beans, cheese, mushrooms). Please tell your guide about your preferences, and they will help you order suitable dishes.

Can you pick me up from my hotel?

Yes! We offer hotel pick-up for an additional fee. You must select the "Hotel Pick-up" add-on when buying your ticket.

Important: Write your full hotel address in the booking comments.

I get carsick. Can I sit in the front seat?

Yes! Select the "Front Seat Guarantee" add-on when booking. This includes free hotel pick-up! (Only 1 seat per car).

Are these tours suitable for young children?

Honest advice: 4x4 driving is bumpy and tiring for small kids. We do not recommend group tours for infants/toddlers. Please book a Private Tour for safety (car seats) and flexibility.

What should I wear? (Seasons & Mountains)

Georgia has diverse climates. The key is layers!

  • Mountains (Kazbegi/Gudauri): Even in summer, it can be windy and cool. Always bring a windbreaker or warm jacket. In winter, thermal clothes and boots are a must.
  • Desert (Rainbow Mts): Very hot in summer (35°C+). Bring a hat, sunscreen, and plenty of water. Closed shoes are recommended.
Is there a dress code and cultural etiquette?

Georgia is a traditional country. We kindly ask you to respect local traditions and be thankful for the hospitality:

  • Churches: Women must cover their heads and wear long skirts (or wrap a scarf). Men must wear long trousers (no shorts) and remove hats.
  • Locals: Always ask permission before taking photos of people in rural areas.
What is the cancellation & reschedule policy?

We offer flexible options. You choose your policy at checkout:

  • Non-Refundable (Great Value): The lowest price. Ideal if your plans are fixed. No refund if cancelled.
  • Standard (24h): Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the tour.
  • Flexible (1h): Cancel up to 1 hour before departure for a full refund.

Rescheduling: You can request to change your date for free (subject to availability) if you contact us within your valid cancellation window.

Do you have an office I can visit?

We operate online only to keep our prices affordable and our team flexible.

However, we are always available to help! You can reach us via WhatsApp, Email, or Phone anytime. Contact us here.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes. From 1 January 2026, valid health insurance is mandatory for entering Georgia. Read our Insurance Guide here.

How can I save money on multiple tours?

Summer Special: Book our exclusive Georgian Summer 4x4 Pack (3-in-1). It combines Kazbegi, Rainbow Mountains, and Old Tbilisi tours for a discounted price.

View the 3-in-1 Summer Bundle Deal

Can I bring luggage with me?

We do not recommend it. Space in our 4x4 vehicles is limited and prioritized for passenger comfort. There is no trunk space for large suitcases.

Please bring only a small day backpack. If you are changing hotels and must bring a bag, please contact us via WhatsApp before booking to check if it's possible.

Can I book a tour last minute?

Yes, if seats remain. However, because our groups are small (max 6-12), they sell out fast in peak season.

We strongly advise booking 2-3 days in advance to guarantee your spot.

Where do I enter a Promo Code?

Promo Codes: Enter your code on the Guest Page (where you select the number of tickets), right below the calendar.

Gift Cards: Enter the code on the final Checkout Page before payment.
