If you arrived for the first time in Georgia, this half-day tour should be booked first! The city of Mtskheta is more than 2500 years old, and it is also a sacred city - there are hundreds of sacred relics kept in the ancient walls of its temples. No other city in the country played an important role in the formation of Georgian statehood.
Our guide will meet you at Europe Square - it's very close to the Old Town and Rike park. After collecting all the guests at the specified time, we will start our tour. Driving to first sight will not take a long time.
We begin with the impressive monument Chronicle of Georgia – stunning modern creation of Georgian architects. Enjoy a fantastic sight of Tbilisi sea from this viewpoint, before we will reach Mtskheta. Each pillar of the complex tells of its own era of rich Georgian history.
Let's dive further into the rich narrative. Enjoy a beautiful view of the ancient Mtskheta and its natural beauty from the Jvari monastery. One more stunning view opens here for the perfect shots and your memories. The confluence of two rivers with different colours will amaze you!
Continue to Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, located in the centre of Holy City. Visit the urban area of Mtskheta, a renewed, stunning town. Learn in detail the history of the temple, which is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
You will have time to explore the little shops, local bazaar and picturesque architecture of Mtskheta. Take the opportunity to relax with a glass of wine before going back to Tbilisi.
